Yo, Superstars! Which Diva did you have a crush on growing up?

Dolph Ziggler gave a two-pronged answer to why Miss Elizabeth was his childhood crush.

“Miss Elizabeth was like royalty as a child,” Ziggler said. “When she was getting ready to marry ‘Macho Man’ Randy Savage, you felt like you knew her.”

When Miss Elizabeth arrived in WCW in the mid-90s, The First Lady of Wrestling’s image and personality reflected the racier era of sports-entertainment. Even with her dramatic change in appearance, Ziggler was still smitten.

“She became this more grown-up, mature woman you had a crush on, just in a different way.”

WWE Battleground 2013 predictionsDolph Ziggler vs. Damien Sandow (Kickoff Match)

Michael Burdick: An enlightened Superstar like Damien Sandow will surely study Dolph Ziggler extensively heading to Sunday’s matchup, certainly devising the perfect strategy to topple the two-time World Heavyweight Champion. However, all the studying in the world won’t allow him to pass The Showoff test. Ziggler takes the “Uncrowned World Heavyweight Champion” on a Zig Zag ride through loser’s lane at the Kickoff. WINNER: Ziggler

Alex Giannini: Although both Dolph Ziggler and Damien Sandow are due for a victory, I’m thinking it’ll be Ziggler who rises to the occasion at this pay-per-view prelude. The Showoff will kick off WWE Battleground with a big win over Mr. Money in the Bank. WINNER: Ziggler

Jake Grate: Even with huge title matches and other highly personal collisions on the WWE Battleground card, the Kickoff battle could very well be the contest I’m most looking forward to. A contrast of styles — with Ziggler’s reckless athleticism and Sandow’s cerebral stratagem — guarantees that Sunday gets off to a rousing start. In the end, I’ve got to side with WWE’s robed Renaissance man, who finds a way to outfox The Showoff. WINNER: Sandow

John Clapp: With match-of-the-night potential, don’t be surprised if both Superstars lay it all on the line in an effort to remind WWE powers-that-be of their arguably underutilized talent. Unfortunately for The Intellectual Savior, Ziggler thrives most when he’s out to prove a point. WINNER: Ziggler

Anthony Benigno: A former Mr. Money in the Bank, Ziggler has had his struggles of late, though not so much as the current contract holder, Sandow. With Sandow on the upswing after WWE Main Event, look for “The Duke of Decency” to gut out the win in a Kickoff classic. WINNER: Sandow

Dolph Ziggler: 3, Damien Sandow: 2

Superstars for Sandy Relief Party
Filed in Events & Appearances, | Author: admin

New York and New Jersey were ravaged last year by the effects of Hurricane Sandy. On Thursday night during WrestleMania Week, WWE helped those affected by the disaster with the Superstars for Sandy Relief Party at Cipriani Wall Street.

Excited about being part of the night, Dolph Ziggler said, “It’s great kicking off WrestleMania Week by giving back to the victims of Sandy from New York and New Jersey. It’s cool to bring more attention to this great cause.” When asked if he had his eye on any items at the auction, Mr. Money in the Bank replied, “Hopefully, there will be something like a trip for two to not be around The Miz. I’ll bid on that,” he quipped.

WWE Love HoroscopesLEO (July 23 – Aug. 22)

To get what you want out of a relationship, you must first know what it is you want out of a relationship. Be honest with your expectations. Expecting too much of yourself or from a potential mate is the surest way to sabotage a possible connection before it ever has a chance to take flight. Unlike Dolph Ziggler, also a Leo, realize that you’re an imperfect being surrounded by other imperfect beings. Maintain that perspective and you’re certain to find someone who loves you just the way you are — regardless of your flaws.

Notable Superstars who share this sign:
Dolph Ziggler (July 27), Triple H (July 27), Damien Sandow (Aug. 3), Wade Barrett (Aug. 10), Kofi Kingston (Aug. 14)

Cast your votes for who’s naughty and nice in WWE
Filed in | Author: admin

It’s Christmastime, and you know what that means. No, not Divas in Santa costumes — although, there’s a stong chance that may happen Sunday. It means someone’s getting some coal in his or her stocking.

Full of brutal rivalries and confounding moral conundrums that pushed these ring warriors to their physical and mental limit, the past year has been a wild one for many of WWE’s Superstars. And, in their stress, it’s possible one or two of them toed the line a bit between naughty and nice. With all these extenuating circumstances, it’s tough to determine who’s getting a visit from Santa, so is putting the fate of Christmas in your hands.

You, the WWE Universe, will get to cast a vote for 10 Superstars and Divas to determine the most admirable, most impish denizens of the ring. Pick a Superstar, send us your vote and then come back next week, when we’ll officially reveal the list on Thursday at noon ET.

As a bonus, we’ve even composed a little poem to get you in the Yuletide spirit. And, if we do say so ourselves, Clement Clarke Moore has nothing on us. *Ahem*…

’Twas the night before Christmas, and all through the house
Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse.
From inside his workshop, jingling many a bell,
St. Nick sat there stressing, worried as hell.

For Christmas was coming, and it remained to be seen,
Just who had been good, and who had been mean.
It filled him with terror, it filled him with dread,
As visions of goat faces danced in his head.

The voting was tough, both the pro and the con.
“This simply won’t do, it cannot go on!”
Till a solution came to him, it was there all along:
“I’ll put it to a poll on!”

So by order of Santa, that man with the hat,
Cast your votes here and now, cast all of them, stat!
And then the list will be posted and all will be right,
Merry voting to all, and to all a good night!

Superstars’ He-Man Memories

They have the power: Superstars share “Masters of the Universe” memories

Chiseled physiques. Larger-than-life personas. Intense battles between good and evil. These same descriptors accurately illustrate what can be seen at any WWE event on the planet. They also represent the appeal of Mattel’s Masters of the Universe action figure franchise. Launched in 1982, the toys transported kids’ imaginations to the mythical world of Eternia, where Heroic Warriors — led by the powerful He-Man — were constantly locked in battle with the evil forces of Skeletor. (No, Kane, not Larry King.)

Exclusively on and in celebration of the franchise’s 30th anniversary, WWE Superstars reflect on growing up with Masters of the Universe and describe what Mattel’s innovative toy line and its accompanying animated series still mean to them. Plus, find out who’s planning some new MOTU-inspired ring gear!

Dolph Ziggler certainly thinks he’s the most powerful man in the universe these days, but believe it or not, there was a time when The Showoff looked for inspiration in places besides reflective surfaces.

“I used to watch ‘He-Man and the Masters of the Universe’ on Saturday mornings,” Ziggler said. “He-Man was pretty jacked, so that was cool. I wanted to be He-Man. I don’t think I ever dressed up like him for Halloween, but I’ve always been into anything that has a jacked dude beating everybody up.”

One of Ziggler’s fondest Masters of the Universe memories was seeing the live-action 1987 film, and not merely because his namesake, Dolph Lundgren, was its star.

“ ‘Masters of the Universe’ is one of the few movies I’ve seen in theaters because usually when I go, I get kinda swarmed,” The Showoff said with a smirk. “But yeah, I’m a big He-Man fan. All of that other comic book stuff that you Internet nerds are into? Not so much.”
